Albert Hughes Returns to “The Movies That Made Me”

On the new episode of The Movies That Made Me, writer/producer/director Albert Hughes returns for another fascinating discussion on cinema with hosts Josh Olson and Joe Dante. This time around, Hughes — best known for his work his twin brother Allen on Menace II Society and The Book of Eli — focuses on the blaxploitation movies of his youth that he drew inspiration from.

Among the iconic films mentioned in this episode are Coffy, Superfly, and Three the Hard Way. These movies may have been low in budget, but they are huge in terms of influence and entertainment, and as such have influenced not only Hughes but an entire generation of audiences and filmmakers alike.
